  • Kate Johnson – staff profile

    Kate Johnson
    Account Manager

Many of you will already know Kate as your Account Manager. She started with Nexus in 2008 as a trainee Account Assistant and now is the “go to” person for any branded goods, especially last minute bag orders!

Kate’s role sees her heavily involved in the day to day management of the Print Schedule as well as working alongside many clients from enquiry through to delivery, organising branded delegate bags, lanyards and a vast array of other promo gifts.

    Kate says:

“Many of my clients are up against the clock. They have very little time to organise artwork for printed bags, as sponsorship agreements and last minute logos can often be confirmed within days of their events starting!  That’s where we step in!

Nexus can offer artwork within minutes and printed bags within hours.  There are very few bag manufacturers who can turn around branded delegate bags within such a short space of time and it’s great to be able to take even the smallest amount of pressure from my clients!”

  • Back of the net!

Jacqui Guthrie (Director of Nexus Collections UK Sales) will be spending the weekend of 11th and 12th June 2016 raising money for her childrens local football team.

Dressed in full football kit, she will be helping to manage an array of football matches for the children along with a hat trick of other stalls including a busy barbecue, a cake stand and a tombola!

Her passion for the local club in Church Stretton (known as the MAGPIES) stems from her two sons and all the money raised will be going towards a brand new Club House for the children and brand new kits for all the teams including the U4 creche!!

We wish you all the best Jacqui and hope it is a cracking success!!

  • Elsevier raffle to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust…

We wanted to offer our warmest wishes to Nina Cosgrove, a member of the Elsevier conference team, who was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Sclerosis (PPMS) in February 2015 aged 36.

“Over the last 18 months my mobility has declined and I now use a walking stick all the time. I am not able to walk any significant distance as I get very tired and my legs become stiff and heavy. As the condition suggests my symptoms will progress – I explain this to people by saying that each day I feel a bit worse than the day before”

Janet Seabrook, Head Of Conferences at Elsevier, is working with colleagues to organise a raffle for the staff to raise funds for the MS Trust. We wish you all the best!

  • 73% of customers agree about this…

The Conference Bag is alive and well – perhaps with a few changes!!

We ran a recent customer survey to understand how buying habits had changed in relation to conference bags over recent years…

27% of organisers said they still use large conference bags which they would often customise to reflect the event branding.

73% explained that they were now choosing more slimline bags, including slim line conference bags, totes and also slim line laptop bags!

The top reasons given for the change in buying habit was lower budgets, the fact that less paper was being used these days to insert in to the bags and also because delegates wanted more slim line bags as they already had some sort of luggage to take to the conference.

You will be pleased to know that Nexus have addressed all these product requirements by introducing the following ranges, slim line conference bags, totes and slim line lap top bags!
